Alberto Calatrava was born in Buenos Aires in 1956.
Entered the world of the silver in the workshop of Don Edward Michaelsen, where he learned the techniques of silversmithing first Hispanic.
Goldsmith is a disciple of Emilio Patarca, and the sculptor Walter Gavito - in drawing and sculpture.
His major works are in private collections and also members of the permanent collection of National Museum of Decorative Arts of the City of Buenos Aires.
The works recreate the colonial silver and Hispanic native Argentina, with a personal style that identifies him.
It features a universe of objects with different shapes of animals such as birds, horses, deer, armadillos, etc, officiating mates containers, incense burners or end in the handles of canes or whips.
TRANSMITTING THE JOB
2002 - Open the doors of his workshop to teach the trade to all those interested in this art, which have been busy taking classes from different places in Argentina and foreign countries.
2008 - He was invited by the city of Potosi, Bolivia, to give a seminar chiseled and shaped to students in the School of Silver City.
2010 - He was invited by the Ministry of Ecucación, Science and Technology of Catamarca to give a workshop on Level I and II Cincelado to teach art to students and train teachers of Public School Gold
